Saturday stroll

Date: Nov 8 Sat
Weather: 58F, sunny and very windy
Mileage: 23
November mileage: 176
Year to date: 2650

First of all, I'm "re-camera-ed". I've misplaced my HP camera and also broke my Pencam, so for a month I've been sans camera for biking purposes. Just this week I've had the good fortune to come across another one, in this case a Sony Cybershot DSC-S750. My mom's manfriend is handy in all things eBay and a friend gave him one for some reason or another. He bought a new battery and some cables for it (apparently the friend was a moron who lost everything). I bought it from him for his cost at $30. The camera reviews express no amazement, but it's a small and tidy camera to transport via bike, so we'll see how it works out.

Today was, at one point, to be a long morning ride. 'L' isn't doing soccer right now, so the ambition is to head out first thing and do mileage each Saturday a.m. Instead, I felt lazy and listless and we play board game pre-lunch. I eventually got out on the Bleriot, passing by my mom's to pick up the camera and then to destinations unknown. The blustery weather and insufficient clothes further hindered any mega-mileage. I only had a wool t-shirt and heavy windbreaker. I would've been better served with something long-sleeved. Better to just ride instead of stressing about riding. That said, I also sometimes lack the wherewithall to "just do it". Maybe I'll never pull off a 600K brevet.

I went through Cherokee and took a couple pics and then down the Beargrass Trail. From there, it was a straight, down-wind shot on River Road to Blakenbaker. After that it became the classic route home via Rudy Ln. and Seneca. Any miles are successful miles, so we'll wait until another day to open the suitcase of courage.

From Dog Hill in Cherokee.

Bleriot, with beausage dent in front fender and shellacked tape.

Random off-road off River Road. I went exploring briefly, but after hitting a large rock and knocking the Bleriot almost sideways, I returned to paved riding. I think I got very lucky.

Wildflowers still in bloom in early November.

The river on a windy day. On this more than the others you can tell the 2 nasty smudges on the lens. I'll have to take more pics to see if it's cleaned properly.

Great to see you've got a camera now ... and I agree, the tape and shellac look awesome on the Bleriot. Hopefully cleaning the camera lens will take care of the smudge thing.
