Sports Notes

  • the 'Cats got oh so close to beating UGA yesterday, but alas, it comes to naught.
  • Billy G's bball Cats are going to be interesting. I don't know if they'll be any good, but certainly interesting.
  • Real wins a close one vs. Malaga yesterday, but the price is getting increasingly higher. Aside from Higuin's recent brilliance, the Madridistas are in trouble. On the long-term injury list are now Ruud and Robben. Pepe and Diarra are now hurt, as I understand. Sergio Ramos is in a major funk. And look at the rate that Barca is scoring. It looks like lights out for los Blancos. But you never know.
  • Venus wins season closer and best de facto player of the year to add to her Wimbledon crown. Yes, other players may higher rankings, but who cares. She wins when it counts, and that doesn't mean the DesMoines indoor carpet open.
  • Who knows how the AI/Chauncey trade will turn out. I'm just not feeling it for the Pistons, although it may very well be the spark they need.
