So much happening in such a short few days. The Wednesday morning commute was a tough one due to the late night Tuesday, but how could you go to bed before Obama's speech and discussion there of. I thought both McCain's concession speech and Obama's acceptance one were inspiring. We have lived under the tutelage of the Roveian shadow government for too long, first in the Gingrich 90s and then in the aughts with Rover/Cheney/Bush (in that order of power sharing). I hope B.O. can make good to create a new American spirit, one of generosity and service. With the war and the economy, it'll be much easier said than done. As it was, I dealt with little sleep and a hangover all day Wednesday, so the commute was nothing special. I did tack on a couple more miles going to the Wed night out at church. And more new came Wednesday as well in the form of a new dining room table and love seat for the area. They brought the wrong sitting chair, so that'll be delivered later along with an upstairs coach. Things seem to be changing here in the household.

Today yet again we had 75F and sunny. It's been the most amazing Indian summer (is that p.c. to still say that?). After work I did the Algonquin/Riverwalk loop. I felt great for the first 10m, pushing a steady 16mph on the LHT, an accomplishment if you ask me, hauling that fat-ass thing at speed. Mind you, I love the trucker and consider it along with my Bleriot as "must have" bikes. Once on the Riverwalk I learned the source of my speediness, a stiff northwesterly that por lo visto pushed my surface area-inducing derriere along the parkway, but put me at a dead stop. I went from 16mph to 11mph just like that. A brick wall. I finished, though, a beautiful afternoon with 28m on the day and I gotta love that. Tonight perhaps some rain comes and then the temps become more fall like.

Congrats to Doug, but I still can't find my camera. I'm wondering now if it fell out of the Baggins bag during a stop on the Oldham Co. ride in early October. Eek. Gonna have to find some $$ during the holidays, or more likely just buy a new Pencam. They're listed for $15, but you certainly get what you pay for.
