Bookend 2010

We just got home from spending a really nice New Year's Eve with friends in Lexington. Part of the trip down there was my own bike trip to bookend 2010 on two wheels. Yesterday was a freakish 60F with sun, so I took advantage and planned a 67-miler to Frankfort that, if I made good time, I could extend to just short of 80miles into Midway. Little did I know that it would turn into one of the toughest rides of the year. I only made it 56 or so, but the day's outing took me over 3,000m for the year, my 2nd highest total ever (after 2009).

I'll do a more thorough report when I get the pics loaded, but I began '10 with a memorable 40 miles of mixed terrain at 17F and ended it with a near death march into the wind all the way to Frankfort. Whew!
